  Stories of Hope

Geneva H. Adams, M.S., L.P.

My approach involves addressing the connection between physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health.  Some of the therapeutic methods I employ include cognitive-behavioral therapy, psychodynamic theory, coping skills training, clinical hypnosis, relaxation/visualization techniques, art therapy, and creative journaling.  I recognize the value of identifying and building upon strengths as well as addressing problem resolution.  I believe it is vital for therapist and client to work together to assess deeper levels of issues and problems, monitor progress, and design pertinent assignments to practice between sessions.

Geneva is a Licensed Psychologist. She received her Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from St. Cloud State University.  Geneva has worked in the mental health field since 1984 in a variety of settings, including outpatient clinics, day treatment, hospital inpatient and partial programs, and residential treatment centers.  She works with adults and adolescents, individuals, couples and groups.  Some of her group therapy topics have included stress management, self esteem, art therapy, and “clutter-free.”  Geneva is a member of Minnesota Women in Psychology and Minnesota Society of Clinical Hypnosis.

I attended your Stories of Hope and it was wonderful. I was so relaxed and felt so peaceful. Thank you for a truly healing evening!
